Higher Objectives of Memorizing the Book of Allah and Pondering it

Abstrak:

This research focuses on identifying the means of developing the skills of memorizing and contemplating God’s Book, by finding the self-desire and strong psychological motives for memorizing the Qur’an. If memorization meets with contemplation, then it has achieved for its owner the greatest interests of the world and the hereafter. The problem of this research appears in the lack of the presence of memorizers with the large number of good readers, with the absence of the issue of solid reflection and coherent memorization. Meditation, contemplation, and consideration of the consequences of matters as if it is not the concern of memorizers of the Book of God, although if contemplation meets memorization, it contributes to the renewal of the Islamic educational curriculum. The nature of the research requires that the researchers use the inductive approach along with the analytical approach, so that the research can reach its objectives easily. The research concluded with important results, including: The skills of memorization and contemplation, if combined, make the memorizer a thinker, writer, author, scholar and preacher who contribute to solving the nation’s intractable problems. The research proved the necessity of not being satisfied with the traditional means of developing memorization, but it is necessary to follow modern innovative methods in developing the skill of memorizing and contemplation.
